MicroStrategy Launches Analytics Platform on AWS

MicroStrategy Inc. announced that its business intelligence platform (BI) is now generally accessible after going all in with Amazon Web Services Inc.
The MicroStrategy Secure cloud is a combination of the company’s enterprise analysis platform, MicroStrategy 10 Secure Enterprise with AWS’s data integration and validation services.
MicroStrategy stated in a press release that the new offering “provides a new and powerful environment for organizations to deliver transformational analytics, mobile applications in minutes”, and that it is now available in English.
MicroStrategy Secure Cloud is a security-focused cloud. According to the company’s website, MicroStrategy Cloud is backed up by Usher’s cutting-edge security functionality and meets or exceeds industry standards and best practice.”
The company had previously used its own infrastructure to provision its products. However, it announced earlier this year that it would use AWS exclusively to host in the cloud and take advantage of its benefits like scalability, global reach, and global reach.
The company stated that MicroStrategy is currently an Advanced Technology Partner in the Amazon Web Services Partner Network (APN). In April 2015, MicroStrategy decided to go ‘all in’ AWS as the core infrastructure platform that powers MicroStrategy cloud analytics. MicroStrategy is taking advantage of the full range of AWS offerings, including AWS’ global footprint, to provide its customers with a cost-effective, fast and flexible way to deploy enterprise analytics at scale.
According to the company, Amazon Redshift (Amazon Elastic MapReduce) and Amazon Relational Database Servicess (Amazon RDS), are core components of its solution.
Paul Zolfaghari, exec, stated that MicroStrategy is a technology leader with today’s announcement. “With today’s announcement, MicroStrategy continued to be a technological leader by delivering cloud-based, tuned and optimized enterprise configuration supported by outstanding system administrators.” This is not MicroStrategy 10 hosted, but a personal production instance that is fully configured and multi-tiered. It is, in essence, an enterprise production analytics environment of the highest quality.
