CompTIA’s A+ certification is the most widely recognized certification for those who are interested in IT work. This certification was created and maintained by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), which is also recognized worldwide.

The A+ certification is the entry level to an IT career.
It is vendor-neutral, and is the starting point for CompTIA’s cybersecurity pathways and infrastructure. These guides professionals through a series certifications in the respective areas.
A+ is the ideal place to start because the skills you learn can be applied to any system.
CompTIA A+ certification was developed by IT professionals for more than 20 years. You can be confident that you have the skills necessary to perform the following tasks by obtaining an A+ certification.
You can configure, support, and troubleshoot devices on any major operating system.
Support IT infrastructure and networks, including data storage and management best practices.
Follow the steps for backup/recovery, incident response, and other procedures.

Two exams are required to earn the A+ certification. They are the Core 1 and Core 2.
Core 1 covers mobile devices, networking technology and network troubleshooting.
Core 2 covers configuring operating systems, extended security, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures.

These A+ exams test your theoretical knowledge and confirm that you are ready to respond to the demands of your job. They also include performance-based questions (PBQs), which require you to use the skills you have in simulated settings. This further validates that you are ready for the demands of your job.
A+ is a DoD-8140/8570 approved 8570 Baseline Certification that benefits professionals who work for government agencies like the U.S. Department of Defense.
Although it is difficult to earn an A+ certification, it is possible with proper preparation, focused training, and practice. The rewards are well worth the effort.

Tip #1: Learn what’s on the A+ exams
Understanding the exam content will help you make sure you are on the right path to success.
These exams are appropriate for your knowledge and experience level. However, it is important to familiarize yourself with the topics to help you understand what you know, where you need to refresh, and what you need to learn more. CompTIA has the complete list of objectives for both exams.
